When You’re Sure You’re Right

Welcome to the third week of Advent. We are continuing with our series, The Heart That Grew Three Sizes, based on the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This week we will be looking at the big blind spot that the Grinch had. Namely that he thought that stealing everything would achieve his goal of stopping Christmas. Do we have a vision of what Christmas is supposed to be? Do we work so hard to perfectly carry out our plans that we risk missing out on what is the most important thing?

If you are worshiping at home, I encourage you to have candles as we light the Advent Candles in the Sanctuary. This week we are doing three.

John Wesley’s “Rule of Life”
Do all the good you can,
By all the means your can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever your can.
