We are a people who love God, love people,
and actively serve in the world
The world looks a bit different these days as we have adapted to the pandemic, but Joseph UMC still strives to be a beacon of light in the darkness.
Whether you’ve been in church all your life, hurt by the church, or never stepped foot in a church building, there’s a place for you. Bring your doubts, questions, hurts, convictions, joys and concerns. We’re all in this together.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2021
This year we may need to pray for unity in general, but also pray for the unity of Christ’s Church around the world. You are invited to be part of this intentional prayer time beginning the week of January 18. CLICK HERE for your Meditation and Prayer Guide to lead you through this week.
The theme for the 2021 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be “Abide in My Love… You Shall Bear Much Fruit.” It was discerned by the wonderful, monastic community of Grandchamp in Switzerland and is based on the message found in John 15:1-17. If Christians abide in God’s love, then they will help to bring reconciliation with themselves and others. They will bear fruit, grow relationships with others and increase the witness of unity.
Together then, especially after the upheavals and anguish of 2020, let us all abide in Christ’s love to bear the good fruit that can make 2021 a blessing for all. Pray that they all may be one. You are invited to participate, especially this year. These include Scripture passages, a meditation/devotional, and a prayer.
